What is a Soul Retrieval?

Soul Retrieval is an ancient Shamanic healing modality, which enables me to go on a “journey” on your behalf to find and return soul parts that have been lost. A journey takes me into “spirit world” or “unordinary reality”, a realm through which I navigate by holding a clear intention and asking clear questions.

There are many ways to use a Soul Retrieval. You can heal childhood pains and even traumas, understand and remove the emotional source of an illness, dissolve the negative entanglement with another person, look for help to accomplish specific tasks in your life, or ask for guidance to find your life’s purpose.

What are soul parts?

A soul part is a part of our wholeness that has been disconnected and moved beyond reach of our emotional resources and intellectual capacities. This may have been caused by a physical, mental or spiritual trauma experienced in this life, or even a past life, or simply by an environment that didn’t allow its expression.

When I find a soul part during a journey, it appears in human form and most often closely resembles the person at the age or time when the split occurred.

Each soul part shows an aspect of our self, and brings back a particular set of talents, abilities and knowledge. It often comes united with a power animal and a plant energy. The totality of what a soul part wants to contribute, often expresses itself through all of the three life forms on earth: the human, the plant and the animal kingdoms. Generally I find two to three soul part groups during a retrieval session for my client.

How do I know if soul parts are missing?

Soul loss can expresses itself as strongly as a deep depression, or as lightly as a vague feeling of emptiness and disconnection with life. Often it shows up as a sense of internal limitation, a feeling that you are struggling too hard in a particular area, a sensation as if you keep on reaching for something that keeps slipping away. - And there may be a soft memory, lingering like a promise, reminding you that you are more than what you are limited to right now.

What happens in a soul retrieval?

Intention.
When you schedule a retrieval session we spend some time to clarify your intention. This is a powerful basis for a successful retrieval.

Preparation.

We talk about your intentions and any other aspects you feel are important to share for this journey. I like to build a brief inner map of your emotional environment for myself, before embarking on the retrieval.

The space is prepared with a mat for you to lay down on, and a pillow right next to it for me to sit on. I sit very close to you, because a slight body contact helps me to connect more easily with your energy field. Finally I smudge the space around us as a last preparatory cleansing ritual.

The Retrieval Journey

I begin to beat the drum in order to enter into “Unordinary Reality”. Drumming enables me to access the vast, unseen dimensions that surround and connect us. I don’t use the traditional heartbeat like Shamanic way of drumming. My drumming will change throughout the journey in rhythm and volume, because I use it’s sound energy to support and forward the journey process. On the journey I am always guided by my own power animal, and sometimes also assisted by the higher self or a spirit guide of my client.

The soul parts usually appear in an archetypal environment of their choice, an ideal place that allows them to fulfill their specific purpose, or in a situation that reflects the time when they first left the client. If I find the soul part in a situation of pain, illustrating the past, I use all available tools to rescue, restore and heal the soul part first. My goal is always to find out “who” this part of you is, to discover what ability, knowledge and potential it brings back, also why it left at the time, and if there is something it needs from you in order to return now. I like to find out as much as I can about what the images and symbols mean in your real life, and if there are specific suggestions from the soul part about what real life behavior or actions would be beneficial for you.

I always ask if there is a power animal connected to a soul part, unless this is very clear and an animal shows up right away. I want to know what role this animal plays, and how it supports you. I also ask for a connected plant energy, and how that one relates to the nature of your soul part, and what it enables you to be or to do. I found that it is not only helpful to give spirit a wider palette for expression that way, but also that sometimes it is the plant, or the power animal that holds a stronger meaning than the soul part itself, and thus creates the real connection to the client.

Past Life Soul Parts

Sometimes I encounter a scene from another time and another place. I treat those as past life soul parts. I don’t necessarily believe that what I see is an exact description of your former lifetime, but it is without doubt an energetically correct description of the deeper root of you current situation. I heal the past by rewriting that story. I do this by looking for a gift of awareness to the past you, and an access point in the story, a moment where the events could have taken a different turn. Just following those leads I observe how that life now unfolds, how differently it now plays out, and how the entire foundation of your present life shifts, as a result of it.

Return Home

When I bring the soul parts and their companions back, I physically blow them into your body through your heart chakra, and your crown chakra. Some rattling completes the return, seals your aura and closes the ritual. Then I tell you what I found out and encountered, and tape record the stories of the journey for you.

A soul retrieval session usually takes about two hours.

Integrating your returned soul parts.

What we are bringing back to you are only the seeds of something new. This something can become a much larger part within you. How big it can grow and how much it can contribute to your life and ultimately change it, depends on how much room you are able to give it, and how much you allow it to change the limiting core beliefs you have held about yourself.

Some clients experience an almost magical ease in the way life feels different after a retrieval, others find that they need to stay more actively involved in nurturing their newly returned soul parts for them to truly blossom into life.

I send you home with a sheet full of tips on integrating your soul parts, but I also offer additional support in the weeks after a retrieval through a very effective inner growth program, that was specifically designed to expand these parts within yourself into their full potential.
